Route description

Windy and cold today so we wrapped up well and started up the small road that leads to the cottage at Fell Foot.  We then ascended the hill via the steps to the left.  There were lots of model planes and full size gliders about due to the wind.

We got near the top and everyone was hungry so I hunted out a wind break and found a dip on the other side of the hill.  We had half our lunch (because I forgot to put the other half in my bag) and then trekked up to the cairn at the top of Parlick.

After dossing around for a few minutes and taking a few photos we meandered back down the hill towards the car.  There’s quite a few ways down the hill and other trekkies and dog walkers were using different routes.  I still fancied rolling but I’ll save that till next time.

On this route

Startifants Lane, Fell Foot, Parlick Fell, Parlick Pike.
