An hour’s trip along the M62 we arrived at the Hilton, Manchester. I’ve always wanted to stay here so I was really looking forward to it. Our rooms were upgraded to Executive on the 16th floor – so the views of the city were great. Better still we had access to the Executive lounge on floor 23, with free Peroni!! We also got to stand on the glass floor, looking down at the street. Silly thing to do really when I can’t even stand on a ladder.
We had tea at EastZeast – a really nice indian restaurant at the end of Deansgate and then I rushed us back to the hotel to watch the footy. Nic was going to have a bath and watch TV on the screen in the bathroom, but she burnt herself – a little sob, and read her book instead.
After breakfast we made our way home because Nicci was missing the dog (and the kids).
