Wiswell Moor from Nick of Pendle
It was such a nice evening that after work I decided to drive out to Sabden and have a short walk from Nick of Pendle. I hadn’t really planned very much, it was one of my spur of the moment jobs (not recommended!). Having glanced at the OS map I could see lots of routes so I just stuck my boots on and headed out.
I ended up heading towards Wiswell with the intention of checking out Jeppe Knave Grave, which is – according to legend, the burial spot for Jeppe Curteys, a highwayman beheaded for his crimes in 1327. Unfortunately time got the better of me so I didn’t see this but I’ll come back and re-do this later.
It was still a cracking walk in an area I have not explored much, so there will be more visits on the cards this summer. There are loads of parking spots at Nick of Pendle and plenty of amenities nearby in Clitheroe and Sabden.
