Mill Barn Samlesbury

Mill Barn Samlesbury, is a tranquil terraced garden along the banks of the River Darwin.  A garden on many levels, both physical and psychological.  A sense of fun and mystique is present and an adventurous spirit may be needed to negotiate the various parts. Flowers, follies and sculptures engage the senses, moving up from the semi formal to the semi wild where nature is only just under control.

A grotto dedicated to alchemy, a suspension bridge over the River Darwen 20 metres wide at this point, and a tower on the far bank above the ‘Lorelei’ rocks where a princess might wait for her lover.  Partial wheelchair access, visitors to Mill Barn Samlesbury have not been disappointed in the past.
