Longridge Fell, 3 Mile walk, September 2013

Longridge Fell (12)Having gone the entire month of August without walking because of spending all my spare time doing boring stuff like decorating, I decided September was not going to be the same.

Today was still a busy day and I only had a couple of spare hours but I grabbed my boots and headed for Longridge Fell.

I managed to forget my map, but it was ok, I didn’t need it anyway. I’ve been to Longridge Fell quite a lot and like to think I know the fell pretty well. So what I decided to do today was find some new paths and explore some places I’ve missed on previous visits.

This plan worked well as I only ended up heather bashing for a couple of hundred metres. And, I managed to find a cracking new path that I had missed previously.

One thing I did notice today was there was a lot of litter around. In fact, the last time I was on Longridge Fell I remember there being a lot of litter. Why can’t people just stick it in their pockets or bags? I just can’t grasp their mindset. Anyway, I had a spare plastic bag with me and half filled it on the way back.
