Abbeystead, Ward’s Stone and Tarnbrook Fell – Moderate Circular – Jan 2011
This would be a difficult walk at any other time of the year. Luckily the ground was well frozen today but I imagine we’d have been up to our knees at some points – even in Summer.
We tackled Ward’s Stone from Abbeystead and came back along a farm or shooter’s track on Tarnbrook Fell. It was a good four hour walk and was quite tough going, well done Jack and Kev!
|Terrain||Mainly excellent farm tracks, but for a few miles we went off track and this was very boggy. Luckily the ground was frozen so we were able to get across it.|
